A hidden gem in Nassau – and get your steps in with this awesome, satisfying and deeply informative walking tour!

This was our first cruise ever to anywhere, and we had a blast on Carnival Sunrise, but we have to share this hidden gem, because this guy deserves the business, and you won't regret it!

The BEST part of our visit to Nassau was what ended up being a personal walking tour of the city by Rendezvous Vous Tours. The proprietor, Archie, has lived in the Bahamas all his life, used to work for another tour company, and set out on his own with this venture. We couldn't recommend him more highly and couldn't resist the price.

We started at the government center and learned about the Bahamanian relationship with the British crown, how their government and courts are structured and function in comparison with the US. He shared details of Nassau's history with pirates, the rich and famous, and because he's local, he has "ins" with the chocolate factory, cigar producer, winery (they use imported grape concentrate and blend their own), a rum distillery, and a medicinal tea shop!

This is a true, hidden gem, so if you ever find yourself heading to Nassau (or back to it), do yourself a favor and spend a few fascinating and friendly hours with Archie!!
Fantastic tour!! Highly recommend!!

This was an amazing guided walking tour. I prefer walking tours because you truly get a feel for the place you are visiting. Archie my tour guide was fantastic. He has built relationships and so I felt like a VIP at each of the stops we made. I would highly recommend this tour. My favorite part was the National Art Gallery and getting to know Archie the coolest tour guide I’ve ever met! All stops were interesting and close together and they included: the parliament, governors house, Graycliff Chocolatier, a cigar factory, a wine distillery in an old convent, the national gallery and a rum distillery that had a snack bar and refreshing drinks at the end. I recommend bringing a hand held electric fan to beat the heat but you do get plenty of chances to cool down at all of the stops.
A Must See Excursion with Historical Background & Events of Nassau, Bahamas

If you like history and culture, I highly recommend this excursion with Archie! He was masterful, informative, cordial and personable. The tour was so fascinating and engaging that towards the end, we didn’t even realize that we had been walking for 2 1/2 hours! His history references and knowledge base of his local island was unmatched. Lastly, the pricing was surprisingly affordable. I strongly recommend you take the time to try this out for yourself because you want be disappointed.
Great walking tour without stairs
Kristine_C, 25-04-2022
Great tour! We went at a comfortable pace and learned a lot! Archie and Bryna(?? Sorry!) were gracious and helpful, expecially getting my husband's travel scooter over tricky spots. We enjoyed everyone we met! We chose this tour in particular because it didnt include stairs or bus loading/unloading, which would have been very hard to manage with the scooter. It worked out perfectly. What a lovely experience, and 2 lovely hosts.
